What is your name and where are you from?
My name is Adrian Valencia and i’m from Santa Cruz, California
Please describe your background
I, along with my older sister and younger brother, were raised by my mother, and were all raised in church. I have been serving in various ministries from the time I was 13 years old
List one experience you’ve shared in CHC that started it all for you, or resonates with you the most.
The first few weeks that I started attending I was captivated by the worship, as I could tell it was Spirit-lead and very powerful. That caused me to desire to be part of the worship ministry.
If you had the entire world’s attention, and knew that every living person on Earth would hear you, what would you say?
Don’t give up hope. That subtle question mark that constantly remains in your life, of not knowing your purpose, is answered not with religion, but a real relationship with a loving God. Jesus wants to be a part of your life and I can confidently tell you that if you love him, you’ll never look back from your decision
If you were brand new to CHC, what is one thing you would tell yourself?
Ask immediately about Connect Groups, to start making real, genuine, and healthy relationships.
What led you to get involved in men’s ministry and what made you stay?
A mentor of mine (Pastor Troy) recommended City Harvest Church to me. I stayed because of the healthy balance of Spirit-filled worship, practical and deep teaching, discipleship, and fun relationships.
How has your life been impacted through CHC?
I have gained an innumerable amount of real life skills, through my years of serving in many ministries. But more importantly, the dynamic of my relationship with Jesus has transformed, in a way that makes me so hungry to know more about Him through His word, and through prayerful experiences.
DISCUSS HOW YOU HAVE GROWN AS A PERSON BECAUSE OF CHC?
I’ve seen a great amount of maturity in myself since being a part of CHC, due to discipleship and close relationships.
HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF HELPING OTHERS BE A PART OF CHC IN THE NEAR FUTURE?
Being a part of CHC as long as I have, I feel I have great insight on how to help someone become more connected in church and to grow dynamically in their personal prayer life. Then to anyone who is open, I am willing and eager to build a friendship.
IN YOUR OWN WORDS DESCRIBE THE HEART BEHIND CHC.
The heart of City Harvest Church is to, through healthy relationships, build disciples of Jesus Christ, who can then multiply themselves, and continually build more disciples, until the whole world has encountered Jesus and to enjoy life doing it.
